Toronto Blue Jays starter Spencer Jones turned in a top-notch performance against the Washington Nationals at Rogers Centre. The result was a win for the Blue Jays, 3-2. Jones got the win, improving to 13-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Jones allowed 2 runs. Earning his 6th save of the year was Hoof Harted.

With two out in the bottom of the second, C.J. Richerson barreled up a forkball from Joe Hincks. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Blue Jays in front, 3-0.

"Spencer is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Toronto manager Max Meany.
