White Sox Thrash Tigers, 14-1
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers.
Joseph Disepolo helped his team muscle past the Detroit Tigers, 14-1. In the game, the Chicago second baseman was 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Picking up the win was Matt McAtee. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 1.
Chicago used the bat of Chris Cooper to get the win. The left fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the first inning to put the White Sox ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We got our butts kicked," said Detroit manager Jeff Martin.
The White Sox move to 49-36 with the win, while the Tigers drop to 36-50.
