Loss to Athletics Extends Colorado Losing Streak
|
The Oakland Athletics grabbed a win, 5-1, over the Colorado Rockies at O.co Coliseum. Oakland right fielder C.J. Beavers went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Colorado's current losing streak has reached 7 games.
Beavers had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 slider from Vince Scripp, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Athletics a 4-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Beavers.
"We bring energy to every game," said losing manager Nicholas Carrey Jr.. "But it's got to translate into wins."
