Cincinnati Beats Los Angeles, 5-2
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Cincinnati Reds starter Ryan Sobocinski hurled his team past the Los Angeles Dodgers, 5-2. Sobocinski got the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. Sobocinski allowed 2 runs. Junpei Yamazaki earned his 7th save in 10 tries.
Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Chris Grunwald to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Reds ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Grunwald told the Cincinnati Citizen.
With the victory, the Reds upped their record to 46-44.
