John Creel left his imprint on the 8-4 San Francisco win against the Cincinnati Reds. Creel went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Jorge Sosa, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. The second-place Giants have a record of 54-44.
In the bottom of the sixth, San Francisco center fielder Nick Rigden gave his team the lead. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Doc hit his 18th home run of the year. Cincinnati pitcher Ragnar Alqvist surrendered it. With that, the Giants jumped in front, 4-3.
