Mariners Take Down White Sox, 3-2
|
The Seattle Mariners eked out a 3-2 win versus the Chicago White Sox at Safeco Field. Nobody did more than designated hitter Steve Jordan. He was terrific. William de Jesus, now 10-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. The win elevated the Mariners to 55-43.
Pavpv Ivanushkin aided the Seattle cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4.
After the game, Seattle manager Aaron Schiff applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
