Griffin Crushes 4 Home Runs
Fans at Andrew Wray Stadium won't soon forget the raw display of power put on by Madison Brewers third baseman Jelani Griffin today. Griffin smashed 4 home runs in Madison's 29-1 victory over the Kelowna Heat.

"To be honest with you, I have never even thought about hitting this many home runs in a game," Griffin said to reporters after the game. "Only legends hit this many home runs in a game and I ain't no legend."

In his history-making performance, Griffin victimized Kelowna hurlers for 4 hits in 6 at-bats with 5 runs scored and 5 RBIs.

"What he did was unbelievable," said Kelowna manager Hichori Toyama. "My guys gave it their best, but he hit some fine pitches. He was like -- he was in automatic home run mode today. He just had that great swing. It didn't matter what we threw him. It was gone."

Jelani Griffin hit a solo-shot off Jerry Schlaak in the 1st, grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Jerry Schlaak in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jerry Schlaak in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jerry Schlaak in the 6th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.

For the year Griffin has hit at a .339 clip with 73 RBIs, 28 home runs and 54 runs scored.
