Nationals Win Streak Reaches 6
|
Washington got a strong outing from Danny Diaz as the Nationals defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-2, at Nationals Park. The 4th-place Nationals have won 6 straight.
In the bottom of the sixth, Washington first baseman Seth Cook put his team on top. With no one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 18th home run of the year. St. Louis pitcher Keith Anter served it up. Just like that, the Nationals were ahead, 4-2.
"Danny was able to execute his pitches," said Washington manager Mike Shore. "Simple as that."
