Yankees Fall to Expos, 4-2
|
The Montreal Expos dealt the New York Yankees a 4-2 loss at Yankee Stadium. Steve Anderson was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Brian White earned the win for Montreal. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 10-6. Earning his 26th save of the year was Jakub Kvacek.
With Montreal leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Anderson hit a slider from Tim Catalano for a 3-run home run. It was his 19th home run of the season and put the Expos ahead, 4-0.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Anderson told the Montreal Observer.
The loss makes New York 40-75.
