Brewers Beat Mets, 4-1
|
Pitcher Travis Southern was sensational for the Milwaukee Brewers in his team's 4-1 triumph over the New York Mets. Southern picked up the win, and it was well-earned. Jeff Urry collected save number 14. The Mets, now 62-57, have lost 4 in a row.
Akitada Nishizawa had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Milwaukee right fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Brewers in front, 4-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Southern said after the game.
