White Sox Snatch 3-2 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Chicago-Montreal contest at U.S. Cellular Field.
The Chicago White Sox got a good effort from starter Ricky Salas in defeating the Montreal Expos at U.S. Cellular Field. The final score was 3-2. Jacob Taylor got credit for the save for Chicago. It was his 11th of the year.
Had Chris Cooper not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Cooper hit a 2-run double. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the White Sox.
Montreal manager Robb Dixon said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
With the win, Chicago raised its record to 68-55.
