Ohnn Goes 5-for-5 Against Los Angeles
|
Even as a kid, Young-kwang Ohnn said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Dodger Stadium today, Ohnn showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 30-year-old catcher had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Seattle Mariners, helping his team knock off the Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 11-8.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Young-kwang Ohnn singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
To date Ohnn has chalked up a .299 average with 2 home runs, driven in 12 runs and scored 26 times.
