New York Roughed Up By White Sox
|
The Chicago White Sox powered past the New York Yankees, 9-3, at U.S. Cellular Field. Joseph Disepolo slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 6, to lead the charge. Chicago pitcher Allen Speidel got the win, upping his record to 8-0. John Brice got the loss. The Yankees, at 48-88, have lost 5 in a row.
Early in the game, Disepolo had a 3-run home run for Chicago. It was his 29th home run of the season and put the White Sox on top, 3-0.
"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Disepolo. "I think we're going to keep proving that."
