Mets Stumble, Lose to Brewers
|
The Brewers grabbed a win, 8-3, at Citi Field, overcoming a fine effort from New York pitcher Apostolos Tsatsos. Tsatsos went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Milwaukee reliever Danny Lawson picked up the win to move to 5-8. Steve Kelly suffered the loss. Jeff Urry finished the game for Milwaukee and earned his 16th save.
Milwaukee used a clutch hit from Akitada Nishizawa to get the win. The center fielder drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Brewers ahead, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Nishizawa told the Milwaukee News.
The last-place Brewers improved to 64-75.
