Cubs Fall Short, 5-4, at Milwaukee
|
Milwaukee beat Chicago at Miller Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to designated hitter Lewis Thorpe Jr.. He threw 5.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Travis Southern notched his 2nd save in 2 chances. With the win, the Brewers improved to 66-80.
The Brewers got a big at-bat from third baseman Ryan Neal. For the game, Neal was 1 for 4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Milwaukee a 4-3 lead.
"I was a little disappointed," said Chicago manager Mergatroid Skittle. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
