Reds Hang 4-1 Loss on Cardinals
|
The Cincinnati Reds topped the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-1, in National League action at Great American Ball Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cincinnati pitcher Timmy John Aaron-Lee Frank Silveira. Cincinnati raised its record to 79-70 with the win.
Cincinnati took a 4-1 lead on Fred Slade's 11th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Slade hit in the bottom of the eighth, left St. Louis pitcher Doug Seliger shaking his head.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Slade.
