Braves Clip Mets, 1-0
|
The Atlanta Braves racked up a win at Turner Field, bumping off the New York Mets, 1-0. Nolan Stefanski, who started for Atlanta, pitched effectively for his team. The Braves, at 92-59, have a comfortable 15-game lead in their division.
Erik Coleman was the walk-off hero for Atlanta. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Braves left fielder hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"This team is on a mission," said Stefanski, who is one of the clubhouse leaders. "I like our focus."
