Dominant Performance by Tsatsos in New York Win
|
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the St. Louis Cardinals home opener. Antonio Lacayo started for the home team against Apostolos Tsatsos for the New York Mets. The Cardinals were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 3-0, New York. Apostolos Tsatsos, though, was impressive. Sam Schrecengost, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
The Cardinals had trouble solving Tsatsos, who surrendered no runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings.
Tsatsos called the win "a lesson in teamwork."
