Pirates Drop Giants, 6-2
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates topped the San Francisco Giants, 6-2, in National League action at AT&T Park. The standout performance belonged to Pittsburgh pitcher and Rushville, Indiana, native Sam Richardson. The loss drops San Francisco to 2-1.
David Contreras, the 25-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Contreras contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Pittsburgh up, 2-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Richardson told the Pittsburgh Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
