Super Swinger -- Leyba Slams 5 Hits
|
Some days you can't win for losing. Just ask Tony Leyba -- he was the King of Swing against the Missions, but his Fireflies were beaten 3-1 anyway.
The Columbia first baseman had 6 chances against the San Antonio and delivered 5 hits in a sensational game.
"Unbelievable feeling," he told the press. "It felt great to be hitting like that, but a downer when you look at the scoreboard. 5-for-6 does wonders for your confidence, but it's a shame we couldn't win, too."
Tony Leyba singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, doubled in the 10th, grounded out in the 12th and singled in the 14th.
Leyba is hitting .354 this season with no home runs, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has 17 hits in 48 at-bats.
