Royals Deal White Sox 5-1 Defeat
|
Kansas City starter Chris Irvin pitched well against the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-1. The loss makes Chicago 5-5.
Kansas City used a well-timed hit by Roman Downey to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Royals ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good effort all around," said Downey.
