Expos Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Chicago White Sox downed the Montreal Expos, 5-3, at Quebecor Stadium. The White Sox were led by Dietmar Warmisch. He went 3-5 with a triple and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chicago reliever Rhett Beers picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jakub Kvacek absorbed the loss. With the win, Chicago elevates its record to 9-12.
Warmisch had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Jakub Kvacek, he banged a run-scoring double to left-center, giving the White Sox a 4-3 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Warmisch.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Warmisch told the Chicago Gazette.
