Nationals Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Phillies
|
Washington Nationals pitcher Chad Mangum whisked his team past the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-1. The defeat makes Philadelphia 10-12.
Washington used a well-timed hit by Seth Cook to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Nationals ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
Mangum called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
