Chavez Shines, But Astros Fall Short
Houston got a terrific game from second baseman Rich Chavez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Cleveland, 10-9. Chavez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Cleveland reliever Adrian Serratos picked up the win to move to 2-0. Brian Thomas suffered the loss. Cleveland has a record of 12-13.

Pete Barutha took Brian Thomas deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 3-run home run put the Guardians on top, 10-7. In all, Barutha had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Barutha said.
