Boston center fielder Shoichi Aso helped his team beat the Oakland Athletics, 7-6. Aso went 2 for 3 for the Red Sox. The Red Sox, now 19-10, have been red hot.

In the first inning, Aso had a 3-run home run for Boston. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Red Sox on top, 4-0.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Boston manager Rob Diederichs.
