Rutkowski Rips Reading for 5 Hits Thursday, July 30th , 2048 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Hieronim Rutkowski today. Rutkowski went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Reading pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at FirstEnergy Stadium, he had a 5-for-5 line and a day he will long remember. And the Mississippi Braves had a 6-0 victory over the Fightin Phils. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Hieronim Rutkowski singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This year Rutkowski has socked 94 hits in 346 at-bats for a .272 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .344 pace and his totals also include 31 RBIs and 49 runs scored. |
