Breaux Cruises to Shutout
Wednesday, August 12th , 2048
In an outstanding mound performance, Montgomery Biscuits starter David Breaux fired a complete-game shutout against the Jackson Generals at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium today.
Breaux was the key to the Biscuits's 6-0 win. The 33-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and no walks he allowed.
"3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
Breaux has earned 14 saves and a 4-9 mark this season with a 2.87 earned run average in 27 relief appearances. He has worked 97.1 innings, yielded 92 hits, struck out 93 batters and walked 22.
