Wiss on a Rampage, Hits for Cycle Saturday, August 22nd , 2048 Eric Wiss showed off his speed, his power and his plate discipline today at San Jose Municipal Stadium, putting together all facets of his game to hit for the cycle in the Tennessee win. The 23-year-old second baseman went 5-for-6, collecting 2 singles, 1 double, 1 triple and 1 home run to help the Smokies top the San Jose Giants by a score of 13-2. A jubilant Wiss told reporters afterward that the experience was "unimaginable." "Seriously, I would have been happy going 1-for-6 with just the double," he said. "So this feels incredible." For the day, Wiss finished with 5 RBI and 4 runs scored to go with his 5 hits. Eric Wiss singled in the 1st, tripled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Dan Giles in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. For the year Wiss is batting .281 with 9 home runs. |
