Maudad and Morda Fight, Get Suspended Thursday, September 12th , 2047 Yesterday at Prince George's Stadium Muneer Maudad and Calisto Morda got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Bowie Baysox and Corpus Christi Hooks. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Maudad will have to sit out 3 while Morda would be given a 7-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. Maudad is currently hitting at a .264 pace with 15 home runs, 52 RBIs and has scored 49 times. To date this year Morda has won 1 and lost 1 with a 5.66 ERA, no saves and 41 strikeouts in 37 relief appearances. |
