Round 1 Goes the Distance, Carolina Prevails Wednesday, January 22nd , 2048 Carolina Mudcats won a nail-biting series against the Lakeland Flying Tigers 2-1, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 7-2 at Grainger Stadium. Mudcats catcher Josh McCormick was named the series MVP. He batted .636, drove in 5 runs and scored 2 to lead Carolina into the next round of play. "Josh was real solid for us, real solid," said Mudcats manager John Rodd. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Division Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.. |
