Mavericks Triumph in 2047 World Series Saturday, February 8th , 2048 The High Desert Mavericks were good enough to get past the Daytona Tortugas at Stater Bros. Stadium today and secure the 7th championship in franchise history. "When you wear Mavericks on your shirt, you're good at something," High Desert skipper Huston Street told the press. Mavericks left fielder Justin Anastasio was named MVP of the series after he went .412 with 4 home runs and 8 runs batted in. "It feels totally incredible," Anastasio said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment." The new champions capped off a great season with a 8-1 victory over the Tortugas to win the World Series 4-1. |
