Reynoso Hits for Cycle Against Myrtle Beach
Saturday, December 7th , 2047
Dave Reynoso was jubilant as the Bakersfield Blaze left the field with a 29-8 win over the Myrtle Beach Pelicans today. He had every right to be.
The 23-year-old shortstop hit for the cycle at Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark, had a 4-for-4 game and chalked up 4 runs batted in and 6 runs to boot.
"It's too bad I can't do that every day," Reynoso said with a smile to reporters after the game. "It would do wonders for my batting average."
Bakersfield manager Jonathan Bessette was "proud" of the shortstop's feat, but was not expecting it to happen.
"Cycles are tough because triples are tough," the skipper said. "As soon as the ball left the bat on that triple, guys were jumping off the bench for him. Honestly, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to leg it out."
Dave Reynoso doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Matt Tomlinson in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, walked in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
