Season-Ending Injury for Pierson

Steve Pierson has to call it a season. The Peoria Chiefs starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 07/25/2048 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a stretched elbow ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 8-9 months.
The team will likely place Pierson on the injured list today.
On the season Pierson has compiled a 1-1 mark with a 2.55 ERA in 0 starts. In pitching 24.2 innings he has 33 strikeouts and 6 walks while limiting the opposition to a .215 batting average.
