Wise and Pye Suspended 5 Games Wednesday, July 29th , 2048 Nobody was hurt in a confrontation yesterday between the Power Joe Wise and the Mets Richard Pye as both benches cleared during the fracas at Appalachian Power Park. It appeared that there were a few punches thrown before the players could be separated. Today the league commissioner took action. The league decided to punish the guilty parties. Joe Wise and Richard Pye will each have to sit out 5-game suspensions for their roles in this fight. Looking at his season stats, Wise has compiled a .250 batting average and a .323 on-base percentage, while hitting 7 home runs and driving in 31 runs. |
