Sever Shines, Shuts Out Clinton, 6-0 Tuesday, August 18th , 2048 Erik Sever kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Hickory Crawdads were all smiles after winning 6-0 against the Clinton LumberKings at Ashford University Field today. The right-handed Sever gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits and had 8 strikeouts. "If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Sever said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be." To date this season Sever has compiled a 12-9 record with a 2.94 ERA in 23 starts. |
