Sever Gets August's Top Pitcher Trophy Tuesday, September 1st , 2048 Erik Sever of Hickory had an award-winning August as he took home the American League Pitcher of the Month award. "He told me once people used to make fun of the way he pitches," Sever's pitching coach told reporters. "There wasn't anybody laughing in August except for Erik." Sever was all business when he took the mound though, collecting a 5-1 record in 6 starts. He struck out 45 batters in 49.1 innings and kept opponents to a .205 batting average. Checking out his stats for the season, Sever has registered 14 wins and 9 losses in 25 starts, 2.78 ERA and struck out 183 batters in 191 innings. |
