Timber Rattlers Heading to Conference Championship
Saturday, October 17th , 2048
The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers didn't hold back their excitement after beating the Peoria Chiefs in the Division Championship tonight.
Members of the team rushed onto the field and celebrated joyously when the victory became official, with a 7-5 win moving the club on to the Conference Championship, clinching a 4-1 series win in front of the Dozer Park crowd.
"This isn't the big one, but of course we need to get through this before we can win a World Series, so it's an important step," said Aaron Neill as he took a break from celebrating. "Our guys are happy and excited to be moving on."
Neill was named series MVP, as he hit .391 with a .391 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 1 runs.
On the other side of the diamond, there was desolation. Many members of the Chiefs sat stone-faced in their dugouts, simply watching Wisconsin celebrate.
The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes.
