Nicholls Wins National League Pitching Crown Saturday, November 21st , 2048 The Atlanta (MID) Braves have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Iestyn Nicholls, this year's National League Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Nicholls compiled a 16-5 record in 30 starts, tallied 223 strikeouts in 185.2 innings and recorded a 1.70 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .194 batting average against him. He received 29 first place votes out of a possible 30. Juan Garcia of the Dayton Dragons finished second in voting, while Terry LaPlante of the Great Lakes Loons finished third with 1 first place vote.
