Koski Holds Salem-Keizer Scoreless
Friday, June 12th , 2048
The Tri-City Dust Devils shut out the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes 23-0 today behind the strong pitching of David Koski. Koski surrendered only 1 hit in recording the complete-game victory, and struck out 20.
Following the last out, Koski appeared to celebrate a little too boisterously for Salem-Keizer manager Serafino Brito, who could be seen scolding the famously outspoken right-hander as the clubs left the field. Koski's own manager then intervened with some words for his counterpart.
The Volcanoes skipper would not comment on the exchange, but at the Dust Devils press conference, Koski confirmed that it was regarding the celebration.
"He basically told me I was being a lousy winner," Koski said.
"And I told him he was being a lousy loser," Tri-City manager Zelasko Pye added.
So far this season, Koski has a 5-0 won-lost record with no saves. He has made 15 relief appearances, logged 62 innings and fanned 96 batters while fashioning a 1.45 ERA and allowing the opposition a .141 batting average.
