5-Hit Blitz by State College's Miles
Thursday, July 30th , 2048
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the State College's 26-2 win over Salem-Keizer today, center fielder Bobby Miles was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Volcanoes Stadium.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Miles said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Bobby Miles singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
So far this season Miles has put up a .284 batting average with 80 hits, 8 home runs and 41 RBIs.
