Maczko Honored by National League Monday, August 10th , 2048 No single hit brought Adam Maczko Player of the Week honors -- the Los Angeles (NYP) Dodgers first baseman corralled the award with a consistent approach in every at-bat. "Hitting is all about discipline," said Maczko. "When you lose focus, start to lunge at the ball and swing too aggressively... swinging at a lot of bad pitches... that's when your average starts to drop and you wind up fighting for playing time. You're most successful when you concentrate on the ball and make 'em throw strikes." Concentrate he did. Maczko stroked 15 hits in 31 at-bats while cranking out no home runs, 2 RBIs and 5 runs scored. So far in 2048 Maczko is batting .294 with 7 home runs, 42 RBIs and 79 runs scored. He has 135 hits in 459 at-bats and a .345 OBP. |
