Lake Monsters End McClellan's Streak
Thursday, August 13th , 2048
The Minnesota (NYP) Twins lost to the Vermont Lake Monsters 11-4 today at Centennial Field, but perhaps the bigger news was the end of David McClellan's 20-game hitting streak. The shortstop went 0-for-1 on the day.
"We felt if we could slow down McClellan, we would win the game," Lake Monsters manager Ryan Taylor explained. "They really seemed to feed off his streak, so we tried to put more emphasis on shutting him down."
This year McClellan has batted at a .354 pace with 104 hits, 1 home run, 32 RBIs and scored 35 times.
