White Sox End Parker's Streak
Tuesday, August 25th , 2048
It was the best of both worlds for the Chicago (NYP) White Sox today at Edward A. LeLacheur Park, as they defeated the Lowell Spinners 4-2 and also snapped Matt Parker's 25-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Lowell second baseman failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Parker, we just wanted to win the game," said White Sox skipper Sean Nolin. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Parker frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

Looking at his present stats, Parker has compiled a .301 batting average in 72 games with a .382 on-base percentage, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 37 runs.
