Best NYP Reliever Named Monday, November 16th , 2048 2048 was a year to remember for Larry Mathieu. The Connecticut Tigers reliever was the owner of a 0.55 ERA this season over 65.2 innings of work. He made 51 relief appearances and had 4 saves, 109 strikeouts, 20 walks and a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. He's also now got some hardware, as the 28-year-old has been named the McNamara Division Reliever of the Year winner. "It's something I can tell my grandchildren some day, pretty special," he said. He received 21 first place votes out of a possible 30. Chad Dominey of the Spokane Indians finished second in voting, while Victor Villarreal of the Connecticut Tigers finished third with 9 first place votes.
