Grubbs Parks 3 HR in the Seats
Thursday, September 24th , 2048
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Billy Grubbs can celebrate.
The Great Falls Voyagers second baseman powered three into the stands at Red Sox Complex today against the Boston (APP) Red Sox.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Grubbs told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 3-for-6 as the Voyagers toppled Boston (APP) by a score of 16-4, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Great Falls manager Bay Buckley said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Billy Grubbs hit a two-run home run off Seb Lightfoot in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Matt Collins in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Zinedine Lahlafi in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
Thus far this year Grubbs has hit .311 with 64 home runs and 143 RBIs.
