Cervantes Swats 3 HR Against Seattle (APP) Saturday, October 3rd , 2048 Omar Cervantes went yard three times in a Princeton Rays victory over the Seattle (APP) Mariners at Mariners Complex today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Princeton catcher went 3-for-5 against Seattle (APP) with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Rays to the 10-9 win. "I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Omar Cervantes grounded out in the 1st, hit a sac fly in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Frank Cabrera in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Eric Dixon in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Victor Ocampo in the 10th. Cervantes is batting .254 this year with 21 home runs, 49 RBIs and 70 runs scored. He has 88 hits in 346 at-bats. |
