Carlos Gonzalez Rockets 3 Home Runs Sunday, October 4th , 2048 Today was a special one for Carlos Gonzalez of the Ogden Raptors as he slammed three home runs in the 35-1 win over the Chicago (APP) Cubs. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Ogden first baseman collected 3 hits in 5 at-bats, drove in 7, and scored 4 runs in the contest at Lindquist Field. Carlos Gonzalez walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Almonte in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Bobby Almonte in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Bobby Almonte in the 7th and walked in the 8th. Thus far this year Gonzalez is hitting .390 with 88 home runs, 176 RBIs and 181 runs scored. |
