Rivera Torches Cubs for 5 Hits Sunday, October 4th , 2048 It was high-fives all around for Felipe Rivera at Lindquist Field today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Chicago (APP) Cubs. Rivera smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 35-1 win. "Felipe was hitting everything," said Raptors manager Chae-ku Jou. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Cubs manager Jose Sixtos told BNN beat writers that Rivera "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Rivera oversleeps next time." Felipe Rivera doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Almonte in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and walked in the 8th. So far this season Rivera is hitting .290 with 26 home runs, 95 RBIs and 159 runs scored. He has 156 hits in 538 at-bats and a .394 OBP. |
