Swing! Swang! Swung! Williams Smashes 3 HR Wednesday, October 7th , 2048 Washington (APP) Nationals center fielder Chris Williams sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the San Francisco (APP) Giants, Williams told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Williams pushed the Nationals past the Giants, 32-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Williams told reporters after the game. Chris Williams hit a solo-shot off Corey Foster in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Danny Estrada in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Sam Green in the 4th, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 5th, walked in the 6th and walked in the 8th. For the year Williams is batting .355 with 24 home runs. |
