Pedro Garza Rockets 3 Home Runs
Thursday, October 15th , 2048
Ogden left fielder Pedro Garza saw a fantastic day go to waste at Philadelphia Phillies Complex today as the Raptors dropped a 18-17 decision despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Garza said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 20-year-old tallied three homers in a 3-for-5 day, and added 6 RBIs and 4 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Philadelphia (APP) manager Marc Wik. "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Pedro Garza hit a two-run home run off Gilg Martin in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Marc Haigler in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Tim Starks in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
For the season Garza has hit .317 with 60 home runs and 167 RBIs. He has played in 132 games and scored 157 times.
